How do I get started?
Just give us a call, or fill out the Getting Started Form. If available, it is helpful if you have the following items ready:
- Logo in digital format (preferably Photoshop)
- Images, pictures and any other design elements in a digital format
- Website text for the products and or services for your website
- FTP access information - if domain name and hosting account have already been secured - information should include: FTP user name, FTP password, FTP host information
How do I get a domain name?
If you don’t already have a domain name, we can help you obtain one as well as identify an appropriate domain for your website. There are a variety of companies that offer this service. If you would like to see if the domain name(s) you want is available check out www.i-hoststudio.com
What does publishing my site mean?
Publishing a website refers to the process of transferring all the files, code and images that your website is comprised of and physically transferring those files to the hosting server.
What does hosting mean?
Hosting essentially means that you are renting space on someone else’s server. A hosting company leases you space on their server which is where your website is located.
Who will host the website?
You can host your website with any number of companies. Aris prefers to use i-host. There are no publishing fees if your website is hosted with i-host. If you require us to work with another hosting company additional charges may apply.
What is a domain name?
A domain name is the web address for your website. Example: www.google.com
Can I have custom emails?
Yes. Your email address depends on your domain name. For example:
john@domainname.com
What is flash?
Flash refers to elements of a website that can change based off of users input. Examples of flash would be images that change when the mouse is hovering over the image, images or pictures that change from one to another and adding music to the background.
What is HTML?
Hyper Text Mark-up Language - HTML is programming code that nearly all websites are built from. HTML is a simple programming language, its main aim is to tell a web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer how a web page should look on screen.
What is search engine optimization (SEO)?
In order for people to find your website while searching the internet, your website needs to be registered with the different search engines. In addition to registering your website with the different search engines additional html code must be built into the structure of your web pages. This additional code referred to as Meta tags is what search engine use to find your website.
How do I get listed on search engines?
As part of our SEO package we will list your website with the 3 largest websites: Google, Yahoo and Bing.
What is ecommerce & shopping carts?
Ecommerce is the selling of products online. The shopping cart simply refers to the online order itself, allowing customers to purchase more than one product at a time.
What is web redesign?
It is taking an existing website and redesigning it to keep up with today’s marketplace. This can range from updating a logo, images and picture or adding products and services.
Does it cost more to add additional pages?
Yes, pricing can range depending on the level of complexity. Check out the services and pricing tab to view pricing information.
Will I have to update my site?
We suggest every website be updated at least once every 90 days to help maintain your current standing on the major search engines as well as keeping the content of your site current. Please note that an hourly rate to update your website may apply.
Can I make changes to my own website?
Yes. All of the HTML code that we produce is yours. HTML code can easily be edited using any text editor such as notepad. A basic understanding of HTML is required and we can show you how to make changes. However, it is usually more cost effective and efficient to have us make the changes to prevent accidental errors.

How long will it take to design my website?
That depends entirely on the complexity of the project and the timeliness in which you are able to provide us with website content. A typical website consisting of 1-10 pages can be completed in 5-7 business days from the day you provide us with all of the content that will be used for the site. Ecommerce site can take a bit longer depending on the amount of products being sold.
